Patch 2.6.40 kernel on Fedora for VMware

If you've got issues with 2.6.40 kernel under Fedora and VMware workstation or server try to apply the patch below.

All you need is to unzip the file (Download the patch direct from here):
 tar xjvf vmware2.6.39patchv3.tar.bz2

Then run the patch:
./patch-modules_2.6.39.sh

Wait until finish. You must see something like:
make -C $PWD SRCROOT=$PWD/. \
  MODULEBUILDDIR= postbuild
make[1]: Entering directory `/tmp/vmware-root/modules/vsock-only'
make[1]: `postbuild' is up to date.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/vmware-root/modules/vsock-only'
cp -f vsock.ko ./../vsock.o
make: Leaving directory `/tmp/vmware-root/modules/vsock-only'
Built vsock module
Starting vmware (via systemctl):                           [  OK  ]

All done, you can now run VMWare WorkStation.
Modules sources backup can be found in the '/usr/lib/vmware/modules/source-workstation7.1.4-2011-08-04-09:54:33-backup' directory
